NRFI Manufacturing Sdn. Bhd. (originally known as Natural Rubber Foam Industries Sdn. Bhd.) was established in 1989, producing rubber and latex foam products, as a family business. We were one of the pioneers at the time for latex foam products where we produced latex foam pillows and mattresses. Bata was our major customer of our latex foam shoe soles until Bata made the decision to move its manufacturing facility to Vietnam at the time.

NRFI is one of the pioneers in PU foam injection technology. In the year 1998, NRFI established a new company to setup a PU Foam Injection manufacturing facility. The company solely focused on supplying PU foam insulation parts and vehicle seat cushions for Proton, Daihatsu, and Perodua. The facility contained multiple PU foam injection lines and was a huge milestone for NRFI.

In the year 2007, NRFI was introduced to Vietnam by the Rubber Research Institute Malaysia to provide them with latex foam technology. This project is effectively a technology transfer from Malaysia to Vietnam. We were awarded the contract, worth USD 3 million, of designing and fabricating a continuous latex foam pillow and mattress production line, lab setup, latex foam formulation and provide training for their government backed latex company as part of a technology transfer deal. The technology transfer project took 2 years for a complete handover.

In 2007, NRFI proudly introduced MAGNECHEM Sdn. Bhd., its very own chemical division formed to cater the needs of additives to the rubber and latex industry. MAGNECHEM has introduced a new innovative and patented palm oil-based chemical to be used as a plasticizer or a processing aid oil for PVC and RUBBER. The new product has huge potential in both local and international market.
